Ahmed Alharbi was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Educated in the USA in 2001, the UK in 2005, and Australia in 2013 with BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. degrees. In 2001, he joined King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) as a scientific researcher and is currently an associate professor and part-time consultant for the Ministry of Energy. The International Combustion Institute awarded Dr. Alharbi a vice-chair position from 2014 to 2016 for the Saudi Arabia section. He is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, Alpha Kappa Mu National Honor Society, and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers). The 33rd Edition of Who's Who in the World selected Dr. Alharbi in 2016. His previous positions include deputy director of the Institute of Energy and Water and manager of the National Center for Power Generation Technology at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. The primary research interests of Dr. Alharbi include combustion, plasma, power generation, and technologies. His current research interests include Oxy-combustion, fuel reforming, and environmental protection. Dr. Al-Harbi participated as a representative of KACST and the Kingdom in many international committees and conferences and has more than 20 years in the field of clean energy. Dr. Alharbi has published more than 40 scientific contributions in reputed journals and conferences.
