Gerardo Uría serves as Senior Director of Membership at the American Petroleum Institute. API represents more than 580 oil and natural gas companies, leaders of a technology-driven industry that supplies most of America’s energy.
Mr. Uría is responsible for strategy development for outreach and engagement with industry stakeholders, member retention, recruitment and engagement. He works closely with the Institute’s divisions and Regional Petroleum Councils to educate member companies on the various API advocacy and mobilization initiatives and connect them with industry stakeholders and organizations. Mr. Uría also serves as Chairman of the U.S. National Committee for the World Petroleum Council.
Previously, Mr. Uría worked in various capacities in API’s Global Industry Services division, including oversight of revenue generating certifications, training, events and publications programs. Prior to joining API, Mr. Uría spent nearly 10 years at Weston Solutions and subsidiary companies working in roles of increasing complexity and scale.
Mr. Uría earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and chemistry at Houston Baptist University, and a master’s degree in technology management at the University of Maryland.
