My name is Jørgen Velsvik Silseth, I was born and raised in a small town on the north-west coast of Norway. I graduated from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology with a master’s degree in petroleum engineering in 2015. Since then, I have lived and worked in Equinor in Bergen, Norway. I have seven years of experience as a reservoir engineer in several assets on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Currently I am working as a project leader in Subsurface where we are developing tools and workflows to forecast our emissions to air from oil and gas production. We are also developing methods to reducing our emissions and operating our installations in an energy efficient manner.
I am an outdoorsy person and enjoy hiking, hunting, and fishing in the mountains in Norway together with my family and friends. By foot during summer and with skis during winter. Being fond of nature and progress for society it is of great pleasure for me to be working with operating our oil and gas assets as energy efficient as possible and providing petroleum products to our customers with as low carbon footprint as possible.
