Julio Moreira

Currently Executive-Director for Upstream at IBP, Júlio César Moreira has over 20 years of Oil & Natural Gas experience working for NYSE, TSX and LSE public listed, state owned and private E&P global companies. Between 2018 and 2022, Júlio served as Vice President – Strategy, New Business and Government Affairs at Wintershall DEA in Brazil. Before Wintershall Dea, Júlio was, during 2014 and 2017, Managing Director – Brazil for Rosneft. Between 2009 and 2014, he held the position of Member of the Executive Committee & President – Brazil at Gran Tierra Energy Inc., a public listed (TSX: GTE) Oil & Natural Gas Canadian company operating in South America. He was General Director of IBV Brasil Petróleo Ltda. and Managing Director – Brazil for the Canadian Oil & Natural Gas company EnCana Corporation., renamed as Ovintiv (NYSE: OVV). Previously, he served at Unocal Corporation as Director Business Development - Brazil, and throughout his career he held various managerial positions in companies such as Brascan Brazil (renamed as Brookfield Brazil), Metallurg Inc. and Petrobras. Between 2013 and 2014, he served as Board Member in ABEP (Brazilian Association of Petroleum and Natural Gas Producing Companies) at the IBP. Júlio was Vice President (RJ Section), and also Director of the Energy & Mining Committee of the Brazil Canada Chamber of Commerce. He is currently Vice President in the Chambers of Commerce and Industry Brazil – Germany. Graduated from UFF, and post-graduated in Marketing from PUC-RJ, he also has an EMBA from UFRJ/Coppead having completed the Executive Management Program of the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario - Canada, Advanced Management Program in Oil & Gas at Thunderbird University – USA and General Management Leadership Program at Columbia University - USA.
