Dr. Mazin Tamimi is the Project Leader for the Thermal Crude to Chemicals (TC2C™) Project at Saudi Aramco’s Research & Development Center (R&DC) in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and is responsible for the developmental work in support of the technology.
In 2009, Mazin received a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran, and joined Saudi Aramco’s R&DC that same year. He began his career working on pilot-scale hydroprocessing experiments, with a focus on the production of Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel. In 2016 he obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA, and then returned to the R&DC to join the TC2C project.
Mazin is author on six papers in peer-reviewed journals, and holds eight patents.
