Michael’s research activities include climate-friendly hydrogen, renewable energies, reduction of CO2 emission, synthetic fuels and aspects of a Circular Economy. In 1997, he completed his PhD in Physical Chemistry at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. He has held various positions with BASF’s catalyst business in Germany and the U.S. In 2020 he was appointed as BASF Research Fellow for Catalysis in Sustainable Value Chains.
