Canada Session: Collaborating on CCUS Projects to Drive Deployment Success
19 Sep 2023
Auditorium 2
Canada Session
Major aspirations require major action. Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) shows promise as a set of connected technologies that may facilitate significant GHG reductions across sectors. CCUS collaboration opportunities are also international in potential as the world grapples with emissions challenges that know no boundaries. This session will focus on how collaborative action – including learnings from existing projects – may be the catalyst for accelerated adoption and implementation. Attendees will also hear about the 11 engineering and design CCUS studies – backed by Emissions Reduction Alberta – that span sectors from electricity and oil and gas to pulp and paper, fertilizer and cement production. Project proponents anticipate operations within the next decade and the diverse learnings that flow from each will serve global knowledge-sharing efforts. The panel will also highlight unique partnership structures, business models and indigenous community engagement frameworks.
