The panel will discuss the upcoming demand for petrochemical products and show how a future low carbon economy will direct the way we look at feedstocks and products. In addition, innovation will lead to more complex polymers being available for society. The challenge ahead is to convert refineries into hyper-efficient centres where various technological routes are combined to deliver products and achieve a significant reduction in their emissions. An integral vision is needed to optimize processes, improve energy efficiency, integrating artificial intelligence and digitalization, implement new skill sets and new approaches for relationships with communities and other stakeholders.
