CEO Strategic Session 21: Is Energy Security Threatening the Energy Transition?
The world is presently gripped by an energy shock, not seen since the 1970’s, caused by a combination of the speed at which the world recovered from COVID and major political events. Governments’ primary focus is now on energy security and how best to cushion their populations from the unprecedented upsurge in cost, whilst maintaining an eye on combating climate change. This session will explain what has occurred, what is likely to occur in the future and what impact this will have on the world’s desire to move away from the use of hydrocarbons as the primary source of energy production. Taking this into consideration raises the question “Will Energy Security Threaten the Energy Transition”
