Women in Industry
The 24th edition of the World Petroleum Congress held in Calgary, Alberta on September 17 – 21, 2023 will act as a bridge between the traditional energy sector and a more carbon-neutral industry over the next 25 five years. A key social responsibility pillar of the Congress continues to be the inclusion and promotion of Women in Industry.
Indigenous Programme
The 24th WPC has a dedicated area with Indigenous-focused programming and has been actively collaborating with members of Treaty 7 to promote inclusivity and engagement at this prestigious event. We are committed to creating an environment that celebrates and respects the rich cultural heritage of Indigenous communities.
Carbon Tech Expo
On the path to net-zero many organizations will need to employ clean technologies in order to hit their emissions targets. In order to highlight this important key sector, the 24th WPC Congress structure will include an exposition dedicated to clean technologies at all stages of development, within the private, public and academic spheres. The Carbon Tech Expo will provide a platform whereby businesses, governments and academia can showcase their ideas, prototypes or commercial products. The 24th Congress will be the first Congress to host a Carbon Tech Expo (CTX).
Business to Business

WPC Young Professionals Programme
The WPC Young Professionals Committee (YPC) was developed in 2006 to give a voice to young professionals within the greater organisation and global energy sector. The Vision of the WPC YPC “Shaping the global energy future by bringing together the passion and talents of industry students, young professionals and emerging leaders” will provide the basis for the WPC YP Programme at the 24th World Petroleum Congress.
The Net-Zero Emissions Pathways Programme
The 24th WPC is an opportunity to bring together global thought leaders to have candid dialogue around what it takes to achieve net-zero emissions and the role of the oil and gas sector in the energy transition. The Net-Zero Emissions Pathways Programme will highlight the approaches different types of organisations are taking to advance their net-zero emissions targets and the energy transition, and host panels and workshops to have thought-provoking discussions.
