A: Yes, parking is available on-site at the Stampede Exhibition grounds although we encourage delegates to take advantage of Caglary's C-train which runs from the downtown area to the exhibition site. Registered delegates, with badges, can ride the train for free.

A: Yes, there will be several food purchase options available for delegates on and next to the exhibition area.

Q: What are the payment options?
A: When you register online, you can pay by credit card or by bank transfer. Onsite, we will only accept credit cards.
Q: Can I pay after the event?
A: All interested participants are required to pay before the event.

Q: Can I cancel my registration and get a refund?
A: Yes, refunds can be made available provided we receive notice of your cancellation at least 30 days prior to the event start date.

A: Yes, refunds can be made available provided we receive notice of your cancellation at least 30 days prior to the event start date. We might suggest you find a replacement to join the Congress if you are unable to attend.
Q: What happens if the event is cancelled, will I get a refund?
A: Depending on the reason for the event cancellation, we will do our best to refund your registration fee.

Q: Do I need a visa to fly to Canada?

Q: How do I book my hotel?
A: Once you’ve registered you may book your accommodation with the Official Hotel at a discounted rate, please login and proceed with the accommodation link.
Q: Is there a discount with an airline company?
A: WPC Canada has contracted with Air Canada as our primary airline. You may contact Air Canada about any discounts that may be available to you in your area.
Q: Is there transportation from the hotel to the congress venue?
A: Yes, there is free transport between BMO Centre and Official Hotels.
Q: What is the mode of transportation to the venue?
A: There are several ways to get to the venue. If you’re staying in downtown area, you can take the “C-Train” at no cost. The public system runs every 10min during peak times and stops at the Stampede groups. The ride from downtown to the Stampede grounds takes less than 10min. You can also take a cab or Uber or Lyft to the event, some hotels are close enough that you could walk there in 15 min.
Q: What application can I use to book for my car transportation while I am in Calgary?
A: Calgary has access to Uber and Lyft, additionally, your hotel can help you flag a cab or set up a limousine for a ride or tour.
Q: Do you have an official tour company?
A: Yes, we will be sending information via email to registered delegates on how to take advantage of Pre and Post Congress tours. Register now and we will include your name on the mailing list.
Q: What will the weather be like in Calgary?
A: The weather in Calgary in September will be pleasant and you will see the beginnings of Fall. Typical high temperatures in September range between 15 to 25 Celsius and overnight lows and can dip to 5 Celsius. It may rain in September and delegates are suggested to bring a jacket with them – however the western Canadian climate is typically dry with low humidity.
Q: Do I require proof of Vaccination to travel to Calgary (Canada)?
A: **Assuming this is still in place come September** - Yes, travelers to Canada require proof of at least two shots of an approved COVID Vaccine. Approved Vaccines are; Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, Johnson & Johnson.
Q: Arrive CAN app – what is this?
A: The Arrive Can app is optional for each traveler entering Canada and it is recommended you download the APP onto your smartphone. The APP is a simple way to add all of your personal information including proof your vaccination. Completing the information is essential prior to landing as it will otherwise hold up your time in customs. You can begin adding your information to the APP 3 days prior to your arrival.Onsite Amenities

A: Yes, visit us in the WPC Pavilion booth xxxx for your charging needs.
Q: Is there a shuttle onsite?
A: Yes, we will have some on-site transportation, golf carts and such, to help delegates move between the Big Four building where the large plenaries and lunches will take place and back to the exhibition site.

Speaker Online Registration FAQs
Q: As an Author/Speaker, do I need to register for the congress?
A: Yes, everyone is required to register and provide all required security information.
Q: As a Technical Speaker do I get a discounted rate?
A: Yes, as a speaker, you will only pay USD 750.00.
Q: Can I register onsite?
A: All speakers are required to register prior to the event.
Q: Is there complimentary registration for Speakers/Authors?
A: All technical speakers are required to pay and register. If your company is sponsoring the event, you may request your Marketing team to allocate one complimentary pass for your registration.
Q: I am an author, and I submitted an abstract, however, a colleague will be speaking at the event, will I get a discounted rate too?
A: Unless you are a speaker, you must pay the regular delegate registration rate.
Q: How do I get an official invitation letter for my visa application?
A: You can request for the visa application during your registration, alternatively, you can visit this link to request for visa (Link to be provided).
Q: Does the organizer offer speaker funding/reimbursement?
A: The Canadian Association of the World Petroleum Council does not offer speaker funding or reimbursement.
Q: I opted for Bank Transfer, however, my company still has not paid, can I pay after the event?

Speaker Session & Presentation Related FAQs
Q: Where are the session rooms?
A: Opening General Session is in the xxxxxx, Level xx in the convention center. Please refer to your congress program for the exact room number in the BMO Center of the session that you wish to attend. Signs will lead you to the room that you need.
Q: Will the sessions be recorded?
A: Yes, all sessions will be recorded and available after the congress.
Q: Can I update my presentation onsite?
A: All presentations are required to be pre-approved, however, if you need to make an approved change to your presentation you can do that from the speaker check-in room where the staff will assist you to make appropriate changes.
Q: Will I be presenting from a podium microphone, or will I have a lapel microphone hooked up?
A: Both options will be available
Q: Will a translator be provided?
A: The official language of the Congress is English, there is not translation available.
Q: Will the Q&A be immediately after I present, or will it be after all the presenters?
A: Forum Chairs will manage each forum differently. Your forum chair will confirm that with you, please liaise with them accordingly.

Q: Where do I pick up my badge?

Q: Where is the speaker room located?
A: Speaker Check-In and Speaker Practice is located in room xxx, level xxx in the BMO center.
Q: How long before my presentation am I required to check in?
A: Speakers can check in at any time during the congress however it is required to re-check in 1hr min prior to the start of the session you are presenting in. The Forum Chairs will meet you in the Speaker Check-In room where they will discuss the run of show with you, answer any questions and will then escort you to the appropriate session room.
Q: Is there a dedicated parking for Speakers? Where is parking for the event located?
A: There isn’t any dedicated parking for Speakers. There is parking all around the property.

Accompanying Person FAQs
Q: Can the registered accompanying person join the Congress during my presentation?
A: Yes, the accompanying person can attend the event and be part of the audience during your presentation.
Q: How much is the fee for the accompanying person?
A: The accompanying person fee is USD 750.
Q: What is included in the USD 750 accompanying person registration fee?

Q: How many accompanying persons can register?
A: You can register an unlimited number of accompanying persons, however, only one person is allowed to accompany you during your presentation. Additionally, your family member should be 18 years of age and above.
Q: The accompanying person does not want the leisure tour but would like to join the speaker during the presentation, is registration and payment still required?
A: We will do our best to accommodate your request without additional charge - however, any request will depend on seating availability for the tour of the day.
Q: Is the accompanying person required to wear a badge?
A: All event participants should wear their badge including the accompanying person.
Q: Can I register the accompanying person onsite?
A: We recommend that you register the accompanying person using your online account and proceed onsite to collect the badge.
