Getting to Venue Locations
Delegates have several options for getting from their hotel to the venue locations:
- Walking:
Delegates can walk to the Telus Convention Centre (Opening Ceremonies) or the BMO Centre from the identified Congress hotels. Entry to the TELUS Convention Center is through the doors on Stephen Avenue into the north building. When going to the Stampede Grounds, and should delegates wish, they may also walk from any of their hotels, with a final destination being the west doors of the BMO Center.
- Public Transportation:
Delegates may ride Calgary Transit by bus or light rail transit (LRT). Charter bus service, provided by Calgary Transit, is preferred over using LRT due to construction at the Stampede LRT Station and nearby roads.- Delegate Conference accreditation will allow delegates to ride Calgary Transit buses and LRT for free. All classes of accreditation will allow candidates to ride out of the ‘free fare’ zone to Stampede or Erlton LRT Stations
- Delegates choosing to arrive via LRT will disembark at Stampede Station, walk north on Macleod Trail and enter into Stampede Park via 12 Avenue SE/3 Street SE.
- Charter Bus Service:
- In the downtown core: Calgary Transit will operate a Charter Service from downtown hotels to the TELUS Convention Centre (Opening Ceremonies) and Stampede Grounds (Daily conference schedule).
- Charter Coach Service (National Transportation) will be available from Designated airport area Hotels to the TELUS Convention Centre (Opening Ceremonies) and Stampede Grounds (Daily conference schedule)
- Delegates using these services will need to provide proof of registration (email) or be wearing their Congress credentials in order to board a charter bus.
- Ride Share/Taxi:
- Telus Convention Center – drop off zone located on 1 Street SE, between 7 and 9 Avenues along the right curb
- BMO Center – drop-off zone located on the west side of the BMO Center
Stampede Park – Parking Availability and Offsite Private Parking
There will be limited parking available on Stampede Park in lots 14 and 20 which are north of the Saddledome. Refer to the picture below for reference. In addition to these parking lots, there are a number of privately operated lots, see Picture 5. These private lots are within walking distance to the main entry doors of the Congress. Lots 14 and 20, which are Stampede-operated, will be open and available to the public. Delegates, day visitors and exhibitors may use these lots and gain access by walking to the entrance by following the roadway between the BMO Center and Cowboys Casino.
